WAZZUP?

April 10, 2007
We were in Viitasaari on Easter. Originally I had planned to go on Saturday to Järvenpää to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday a bit early but things didn't go as planned. At the beginning of the week I had a sore throat and it just got worse and worse. I lost my voice (which was particularily painful) and got a terrible cough, so I got to visit the health center in Viitasaari and meet the nice nurses and doctors. I got a pile of prescriptions from there so I spent the Easter taking them all. Yesterday I felt somewhat better and went out for a while, which was really nice because it was very sunny and it had snowed quite a bit during the night. I took some miscellanious photos.. I'll have some more from Nikke's sister once she has time to send me some.

Today after Nikke's work we'll start driving to my parents' for Christmas. My sisters and their families will be there, too. Santa will probably come tomorrow which especially Esa is looking forward to. We'll be coming back on Boxing Day.
Last Monday Maija, Stara, Redi and me went to Haukanniemi because it was such a sunny day. The light wasn't enough for my camera but I got pretty funny pics anyway.
Rooa's owners sent me some photos from the FCI8 dog show in Tampere a while ago. Unfortunately, it was quite dark in the manège.
Have a very Merry Christmas y'all!

The last ones of Vicks and Redi's puppies left to their new homes today. I hope that they'll bring lots of joy and happiness but also challenges to their new owners as Redi has to us. Stara moved to the building next to ours so we'll hopefully be seeing her but I hope that the others will find time to drop us a line every once in a while.

I went to see Vicks and Redi's now 6-week-old puppies yesterday. I'm glad that Esa wasn't with me because those tiny teeth sure are sharp and in frequent use. :-) Since self-criticism isn't one of my strong points here is a huge amount of photos.

Redi is 6 years old today! Wow! In many situations you can see that he's fully grown up but in others... He had his vaccinations last Friday and we descovered that he has returnd to his normal weight about 19 kg. If only it were that easy for me too... I know that the sama method (less food, more excercise) would work for me, too.
Today we'll be going to climb up and down Laajavuori hill just me and Redi. Hopefully we'll act out age...

We've been away from home so I haven't been able to update the sexes of Vicks and Redi's puppies. There are in fact two dogs and four bitches.

At last Redi got his first obedience degree from beginners' class, so he is now TK1 Siphra's Fire On Ice!

Today it finally happened, Vicks gave birth to six puppies: two girls and four boys. In the morning I got a text message from Minna Hämäläinen saying that the "game was on". All day I was a nerve wreck. I don't think I was this nervous waiting for my son's birth. My kid sister said I was crazy, and I don't deny it. Finally just before 7.30 PM the phone rang and Minna told me the news. I've never wanted to be 'mom' or 'mummy' to my dog but I do sort of feel like grandma or aunt. 8-) Now I'll try to calm down... And next week I'll go and see the puppies! ;-)

We spent yesterday in Toller Show in Kuopio where the judge thought that Redi was overweight and he got a 'good'. I hadn't noticed it but then I felt him and yes, he does have some looseness in his sides, in my opinion not that much though. The judge used the whole scale in his judging so we don't need to be ashamed as the only 'good' dogs&owners. Redi's brother Allan won the whole show again, congratulations to Turku! Sörensen chose Nekku (Hulivilin Desert Rose) to be the most beautiful bitch.
I also met Redi's breeder in the ringside. She told me that mom-June (13,5 yrs) is doing fine, swimming and ordering Britt-Marie's mom around, stone deaf though... It's really great to hear that she is doing so well.
My camera also came with us but was feeling so insecure that didn't come out of the bag the whole time. ;-) In other words, the sun was so hot, the place where I sat so unconfortable and I was biting the dust from the dry sand so I wasnt' bothered to move around and take photos. Hopefully someone took a photo of Redi that I can include beside his critique.
