Technology provision:Process modelling methods and languages
The chosen methods and languages should suit the given organisational environment
Approaches to method selection
- Textbook approach: The process modelling methods are taken from books (e.g., RUP, OPEN)
- Contingency approach: The methods and languages are assembled according to process contingencies
- Engineering approach: The methods and languages are locally constructed
Current process modelling methods
- Most are rudimentary since the area is still in its infancy
- Mainly describe the modelling process in a life-cycle fashion
- Examples: Elicit, DMP, PDA
