A short introduction

Education and work

I graduated from Jyväskylän Lyseo upper secondary school in 2007, spent the year 2007–2008 in the army (Air Force Academy) and started my studies at the University of Jyväskylä in 2008. I have mainly studied physics, mathematics, and Latin. I got my Bachelor's degree in 2011 in physics, master's degree in 2012 in theoretical physics and doctors degree in 2014 in mathematics.

A more detailed account of my academic career can be found in my CV.

Research

I work on a number of different kinds of inverse problems, mostly on different kinds of ray tomography problems and problems related to geophysics. My research topics are described in more detail on another page.

If you are a student interested in these topics, I might have an interesting topic to suggest for a thesis at any level: bachelor, master, or doctor. Get in touch and I will be happy to tell more.

Other activities

Many of my hobbies are related to Latin. The most active form of this hobby is participation at Latin Language Stack Exchange.
