My name is Toni Pietiläinen and currently I am finishing my degree in Cyber Security in the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä. I have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and I am currently pursuing a career in these fields. I have also studied Information Systems Science in between these two alongside various smaller subjects.

Work and Professional Life
Teaching assistant - Faculty of Information Technology - University of Jyväskylä
This has been a great learning experience for me also. I have learned a lot about the skills required to assist students in their learning process regardless of their background and existing knowledge. This has made me feel that I've learned to better understand other people's skill level, wishes, and challenges, and that I can now help them better in situations like these by explaining things in a way they can also understand.

Teaching assistants guide and help students with programming exercises and review their course projects. Most students are new to programming and do not have a solid understanding of the underlying concepts, so the teaching assistants exist to help them learn these concepts.

- Home networking infrastructure design and optimization (Routing, Firewall, Subnetting etc.)
- Home automation systems and integration (Home Assistant)
- Self-hosting services through virtualization platforms (Proxmox, Docker)
- Building and optimizing systems with consumer computer components
- Programming mainly in C#
I also have a multifaceted interest in video games, encompassing both practical gameplay and theoretical analysis. I explore games across different genres and play modes while examining their underlying systems - from code architecture and visual rendering to audio design and narrative scripting.
For physical activities I try to stay active through brisk walking and cycling across diverse terrains, including cities, countryside, lakes, and small mountains. Mountain biking on trails is a planned addition to these activities once I acquire the appropriate equipment.
Recently I also got hooked back into simracing, so now I need money for food. :)
