Lectures: 36 hours, 9 weeks, in May-June 2011, by J.M.

Completion mode:
Exercises (40%) and Exam (60%). The basic version of the course gives 9 cr,
the optional 3 credits are available from challenging theoretical excercises,
which are done during the course.
Depending on the number of credits (9-12) the workload is 240-360 hours,
which means 25-35 hours/week.

The extended course is at the PhD study level
in University of Jyvaskyla (see the PhD degree requirements in the Study Guide).
The course is available for students in Tampere University of Technology
via the University Alliance.

Contents: Statistical physics, nonequilibrium thermodynamics, correlation
and response functions, phase transitions, transport phenomena and
hydrodynamics.
