Professional profile

PhD, university lecturer, researcher, teacher educator, and the head of education for the Faculty of Information Technology. I have been working since 2001 at the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä. I also work as an educational technology specialist and online learning trainer in higher education, vocational education, and basic education.

I am involved in the University of Jyväskylä's JYULearn teaching development work, including in the following themes: artificial intelligence and future skills, learning environments and learning-supportive tools, and piloting.

In terms of research, I work as a researcher in the IT Faculty's Human and Machine Based Intelligence in Learning (Humble) research group. I have participated in several research projects and initiatives related to online and distance education, the use of information and communication technology in teaching, and the professional development of teachers.
