I am Tuomas Turpeinen. I have graduated from Dept. of Computer Science in 2004. My major subject was software engineering. At the moment I am working as a researcher in Dept. of Physics.
Things I like to do when not working
Motorcycling
This is the way to travel at summer. I have a Honda Transalp (2003, 650cc) with some travel spirited accessories. One highlight of my motorcyclists' career has been around 4000 km trip to the Central Europe. Some photos are available at my Gallery.
Sports
Lately my favourite sports have been volleyball and beach volley. In addition I have once in a while played futsal and floorball and strengtened muscles in gym. I also have long history with jogging.

I am a keen travel photographer and occasional leisure photographer. You can find a selection of my photos at my Gallery. Currently I rely on Nikon stuff; here is a list of equipment I try to fit into my travel bag:
Traveling
Well, not exactly a hobby that coheres well with my wallet, but it's something that I like to do. I think this all started from my practical training that I carried out in Kenya. Since that I have lost no opportunity to experience a new country.
Scouting
I've been a scout since 1991 when I joined the local group of my then home place Aurinkovuoren Vartijat ry (AVV). Novadays my activity at AVV has dimished a bit (read a lot) and I have moved towards project scouting. Meaning that I mostly do short or shortish scout projects. Though I am also a member of Jyväskylän Metsänkävijät ry, which is a local group in Jyväskylä. Currently my main task in scouting is being responsible of communication of a big scout camp organized by Järvi-Suomen Partiolaiset ry.
