Nuclinux's main features: *bash 1.14 *links (a full featured www-browser), ssh, irc, ftp, telnet, finger *ftp-server (muddle ftp) *vi (elvis) and alternatively, joe texteditors *rna mail(pop3)/news(nntp)-reader (not working yet) *new kernel (2.2.18) (.config included) *easy-to-use script (net) to connect into the (Inter)net, it makes it easy to use your floppy from many different machines *tetris *free space at beginning of the disk for saved mails etc... As a base, I have used tomsrtbt (http://www.toms.net/). As well some ideas and programs are taken from muLinux and ccLinux. (thanks to GPL-policy ;) ) *** Nuclinux system requirements: Install machine: *Linux (v. >= 2.0) (There is also a dos package) *Libc5 and ld-linux.so.1 libraries installed on /lib (see INSTALL how to install them if you don't have them already) *** There are following files in top directory: 1 - contains files that will be copied to the writeable part of floppy 2 - nuclinux tree, this will be packed BUGS - Known bugs COPYING - the Gnu Public Licence README - this file alternative - programs that you may find usefull (like lynx instead of links buildtimebin - binaries that are used by buildit-script (they are there because there are some differences between versions, for example some versions of lilo are not compatible with nuclinux's lilo settings) nuclinux-kernelconfig-* - linux kernel pre-compile configuration file (move to .config in your kernel source dir) CHANGES - changes INSTALL - read this before you try anything TODO - read this if you are interested in helping me buildit - a script that creates floppy image mkfloppy - a script that formats floppy and transfers image there *** Look at Nuclinux's homepage, it may contain more up-to-date information, official homepage is .
