Hamina
Finland, Europe
Officer.
Captain.
Age 32. Single.
I was born in February 1963 in a small town called Keuruu.
It is located in the middle of Finland and the terrain consists of
large forest areas and hundreds of lakes.
After graduating from Haapamäki i High School in 1982 I went to the
army for my national service. There I was trained as a reserve
officer. After my national service I worked in the army as a
trainer for six months and then I went to the Finnish Military
Academy in 1984.
Since graduating from the Military Academy in 1987 I have worked in
the southeast of Finland. My first unit was situated in Kouvola
which is the capital of the southeast region. I started there as an
instructional officer and one year after that I was promoted to a
company commander. In 1989 the whole regiment was moved to Hamina
which is a nice small town on the southeast coast.
After my captain course in 1992 I have been chief of the
educational branch of our anti-aircraft-artillery regiment. Next
autumn I will begin my studies in War College. It will take two
years to get the rank of general staff officer.
Music takes up most of me free time. I listen to music and I am
also a bass player in our band. We play mostly dance music. I am
also interested in all kinds of sports but my personal favourite is
skiing.
