Cognitive Science
Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, University of Jyväskylä

Doctoral student, University of Jyväskylä & Center of Interdisciplinary Brain Research (CIBR), 2014-
M.Sc., University of Jyväskylä, 2014

The working title of my is PhD thesis (a compilation dissertation) is "Convergent creativity and the brain".

M.Sc. thesis:
Kognition produktiivisten kykyjen yhteinen neuraalinen perusta,
(Common neural correlates of cognitive productivity), 2014, JYX

In my thesis I conclude, that there is no single source for all human productive capabilities. It is better to describe network of different brain areas as a potential source for productivity. Furthermore, it seems that this potentiality can only realize under certain cultural activation.

Poster presentation at the EuroCogSci 2019, 2-4 September 2019, Bochum, Germany
Poster presentation at the Toward a Science of Consciousness 2015, June 2015, Helsinki, Finland

Research interests: Cognitive neuroscience, biolinguistics, neural correlates of productivity.

AstroCognition

My intention is to converge astrobiology and cognitive science into cognitive astrobiology (or astrocognition, cf. D. Dunér 2013), i.e. are human cognitive capabilities unique (and arbitary), or is there a universal road to language augmented thinking and culture? And what are the environmental constraints?
