Research Projects Management

Global e-commerce research project at Tallinn Technical University

N. Nahar has been managing global e-commerce (company level) research project since 1994 and continuing. She has been investigating business-to-business and business-to-consumer global e-commerce. Already she has published several papers based on this research project (see the publication list).

Her responsibilities included:

IT-supported international technology transfer project at the University of Jyväskylä

N. Nahar has been managing IT-supported technology transfer research project since 1992 and continuing. She has been investigating a variety of issues related to IT-supported international technology transfer and has already published many papers based on this research project (see the publication list).

In this research project, she has (and had) responsibilities similar to global e-commerce project. The empirical data collection spread over Finland, Hungary, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, and the USA.

Offshore Outsourcing of Software Development through Globally Distributed Teams Situated in Many Countries at the University of Jyväskylä

N. Nahar has been managing this research project since 2000 and continuing. In this research project, she has (and had) responsibilities similar to global e-commerce project (see above). The empirical data collection spread over Finland, India, Russia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and the USA. For published papers based on this research, see the publication list.

N. Nahar was is involved in the following international research projects at Tallinn Technical University.


Administrative and Other Professional Duties Performed

Developing academic program: She was engaged in developing the software business program at the University of Jyväskylä. She developed the syllabi for the courses she taught. She gave inputs to other subjects that were belong to software business program.

Other demanding duties in the University: Issues related to student admission, establishing exchange programs with foreign universities, promotion strategies about the a) software business program and b) mobile technology and business, teaching strategies, and teaching policies are discussed and fixed in meetings in which she participates and involves actively.

She has been participating in locating research fund sources, analyzing the requirements of these research fund sources, preparing preliminary research proposals, finalizing research proposals, making presentations, performing progress reports for the research projects, etc.


Other Activities

N. Nahar has been reviewing scientific papers (e.g. EJOR, JGITM, IJIIM, HICSS, PICMET) and theses for the last several years. She is regularly invited to review articles and theses in the IS field.

She is also supporting Web research community development, contributing to related Internet discussion groups, and collaborating with members of different academic societies.
