Mauri Leppänen has given lectures in a number of elementary and advanced courses, on the graduate and post-graduate level, on a large variety of topics, such as database management systems, database design, database application design and implementation (with dBase, Ingres, Oracle), programming, data structures, theoretical foundations of information systems, research methods, object-oriented analysis and design, and information systems development methods. Mauri Leppänen has published a text book, about 40 articles in international journals, conferences and workshops, and 10 reports in various scientific arenas. He has been engaged in many national and international research projects, including OSSAD, HECTOR, DOFINS and MSIS. He has acted as a reviewer and/or a PC member for several international conferences & workshops (e.g. ER, ICIS, EJC, ECIS, ISD, ME, SREP) and journals (e.g. Information Systems Journal, Software and Systems Modeling, Journal of Human Technology, IEEE Software, IEEE Trans. on Systems, Man and Cybernetics). He is a member of IFIP WG8.1. Research interests cover a large range of research areas: e.g. ISD methods, method engineering, agile approach, ontologies, DBMS, database design, interaction design, enterprise architectures, and requirements engineering.
