Process modelling languages
A process modelling language (PML)
- A formalism capable to represent processes
- Enables a limited representation of process and therefore is suitable only to some process modelling efforts
- Different modelling objectives are better achieved using different languages
The usefulness of a language is dependent on
- the context, purpose and the goals and objectives given for a process model,
- the extent to which it provides constructs for representing and reasoning about various aspects of a process, and
- the degree to which its features are understood and used
