Juha-Pekka Tolvanen

Juha-Pekka Tolvanen is an adjunct professor (docent) at the Faculty of Information Technology in the University of Jyväskylä. He works for MetaCase, a company specialized in domain-specific modeling and code generation tool MetaEdit+®. Juha-Pekka can be reached at jpt@metacase.com.

Juha-Pekka started his research activities in the MetaPHOR project. He received his Master's degree in 1992, licentiate degree in 1994, and his doctoral thesis (best national dissertation award) was accepted in 1998. His licentiate thesis and Ph.D. dissertation research focused on method engineering and especially metamodeling and modeling language design. Other research interests include modeling tools, domain-specific modeling and related languages (LinkedIn, x: mccjpt, blog: Juha-Pekka on DSM and book: Domain-Specific Modeling: Enabling full code generation, Wiley 2008), visual languages, code generators and business modeling (see publications).

His other interests include sailing and skiing. During last summers also some time has been used to build a new sauna for the summer cottage - and now one for home too.
