Artem Katasonov PhD, Researcher and Assistant Professor at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland

Trivia:

Born 30.06.1978 in Belgorod, Russia. In 1995, finished Belgorod school №41 with honors (so called Gold Medal). In 1999, received Bachelor's degree (Computer Science faculty) and then in 2000 Specialist's degree (Intelligent Decision Support Systems program) from the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, Ukraine - both with honors (so called Red Diploma). In 2001, received Master's of Science degree (Mobile Computing program) from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Finally, defended the dissertation with the title "Dependability Aspects in the Development and Provision of Location-Based Services" on April 13, 2006, and by decision of the Council of the Faculty of Information Technology of the University of Jyväskylä was granted PhD degree with honors ("laudatur" in Finnish system).

During Master's studies, worked at Information Technology Research Institute (ITRI) of the university in industry-cooperation projects MultiMeetMobile (Multimedia, electronic commerce, and transactional services for mobile computing) and LIXE (Location information in XML and e-commerce). As PhD student, worked at ITRI in KOTEVA (Software Testing and Quality Assurance) project. After defense, worked in Agora Center of the university in the SmartResource research project, then as Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematical Information Technology. At present, again in the Agora Center working for the UBIWARE research project.
